DIGI

An introduction to the fundamental concepts, concerns, genres and technologies of digital media. Students produce introductory digital projects (Web, photography, video and audio) exploring contemporary concerns and genres in the new media field. Students from other fields are invited to explore interdisciplinary applications of Digital Media to their chosen discipline.

Macedonian Media Fighting for its Freedom

Igor Ljubovcevski likely landed his dream job when he became a cameraman for Alsat-M, the newest television station in Macedonia. As part of the news team he would help shape the news seen by thousands of his fellow citizens. The special thing about Alsat-M is that it offers bilingual reporting, in Macedonian and Albanian, which reaches most of the ethnically-divided population of the country. The station provides a unique opportunity to bring a struggling nation closer together, with a level of tolerance and understanding not often associated with Eastern Europe.
