The Internet Production program is an exciting two-year Diploma program that combines two previous programs into one comprehensive, job-focused educational program. Students gain the experience of learning within the environment they are designing for when they take the first year of iPRO entirely online. Students expand upon that learning during the project-based, hands on second year at the Nanaimo campus. The first year of Internet Production program was previously known as Internet Essentials, and the Digital Media Technologies program has changed its name to become the second year of iPRO. Students completing one year will receive a Certificate in Internet Production. Students continuing on to complete the second year will earn a Diploma in Internet Production.
The Internet Production diploma program (iPRO) provides students with the opportunity to function as learning partners within our innovative digital teaching environment, developing professional-level media skills and the design, communications, teamwork and self-discipline skills necessary to be successful in the dynamic digital media fields. Students learn how to design, create and deliver a broad range of rich media web applications in our state-of-the-art wireless digital labs. The program combines rigorous theoretical and technical education with richly interactive, project-based applied learning.
The iPRO Diploma is the perfect complement for students with existing web or visual design diplomas, media studies, journalism or writing degrees or those with excellent work experience in web design. Leverage your existing education by laddering directly into the second year of our two-year diploma in Internet Production and in nine months you could be career ready for the Media Technology field.
Topics include: usability design & information architecture, visual interface design, web application development, advanced rich-media development, client-side scripting, database design, multimedia production and E*Marketing.

Tuition for the online program for Fall 2008 is $4,372. (Application, student & activity fees also apply). Students are required to purchase textbooks and supplies costing approximately $1000.
Students may register for individual Certificate courses. However, students enrolling in the entire online program earn a $300 discount on tuition, have access to priority registration, are guaranteed a seat in all courses, and may continue on directly to the second year of the iPRO program in the following fall.
Tuition for the second year of the iPRO program is $4,372. (student & activity fees also apply. Application fee may apply if this is the first time applying to Malaspina University-College.) Students can expect to pay approximately $500. for textbooks. Student must provide their own computer suitable for use in the dedicated lab, which may be an additional cost of approximately $1000.
